Using simple everyday ingredients combined with basic technique and timing, the most flavoursome and nutritious bread can be created in your home kitchen. For many years, I have been preparing sourdough bread for my family, and have specifically designed my recipes to fit around a modern lifestyle. This traditional bread-making technique slowly ferments the flour and grains for the best flavour, while enhancing starch and gluten digestibility and nutrient bioavailability.
What you’ll learn in this demonstration-style workshop:
- How to prepare and maintain a healthy sourdough starter – this is key to baking great bread. Note: I am not covering gluten-free sourdough in this workshop.
- Wholemeal Sandwich/Toast Bread baked in a loaf tin. Including variations to use different flours and flavour variations, e.g., adding seeds, dried fruit, and spices.
- An adaptable multi-purpose dough to make buns/rolls, pizza bases, flatbreads, bread and other sourdough goodies.
- Timelines for breadmaking to fit around work hours and for weekend baking.
- Discussion on different flours for bread making + where to source quality NZ-grown flour and grains.
- + Delicious food samples on the day & recipe folder to take home.
